The world-first solutions designed by Marr for the Chevron-operated Gorgon LNG Project has changed the way that companies like Chevron are looking at craneage logistics and construction solutions for large resources projects around the world.
We work with our clients to find a craneage solution that works – no matter how big or complex the job is.
A high-cost project running to a demanding schedule with multiple contractors and suppliers – further complicated by dangerous seas, unpredictable weather patterns, cyclonic conditions, the world’s highest recorded wind speeds (400kms / hour), an A-class marine conservation reserve and strict quarantine management systems.
Working with construction delivery partners, Kellogg Joint Venture – Gorgon (KJVG) we engineered a number of innovative solutions and components – including the super fly and SPMT transport system – to address the logistics and construction challenges and provide greater coverage, flexibility and value to Chevron’s construction methodology.
Our involvement resulted in significant cost savings and productivity gains including reduced crane dismantle and reassemble times from 2-3 weeks to 1.5 hours, reduced cargo unloading and re-packaging times from up to 5 days to one.
